​The zeal to learn more about statistical sciences proved to be an impeccable impetus for the highly motivated members of the Department of Statistics. The students across all years, along with the esteemed faculty members undertook the Annual Field Trip of the academic session to the reputed National Statistical Systems Training Academy on October 17, 2019.

​The Department of Statistics organised its first Alumna Talk Session on 26th September, 2019. The Talk Session was conducted by Ms. Akanksha Sinha, a B.Sc Statistics (Hons) graduate of LSR, Class of 2014.

Moments' 19 was an amalgam of a no. of events including an interactive session with DR. Ravi Vijayaraghvan, workshops , case study competition,qiz competition and many more such events.

The department of statistics curated a python workshop open for all the years and all the departments of LSR with the main focus on stressing upon the fundamentals of coding along with developing interest for future advanced study.

Moments was held on the 9th of february,2018 and saw a footfall of 600+ students from across Delhi and its outskirts,thus making it the first event regional meet.

The statistics department visited the NSE ,Delhi.A two hpur session was conducted by a member of the business development team of NSE.It was a very informative session and the students benefited greatly from it.

Mr. Antar Bandyopadhyay , Associate professor, ISI,Delhi,delievered a session of "Emergence of Gaussian Distribution". The talk was followed by a lively discussion on the admission procedure to ISI,and certain other things about the institute.

The statistics department held an R programming workshop which was spread over three sessions.It was a huge success and we were enthralled to see the overwhelming footfall from the various departments.
