MESSAGE FROM THE FACULTY
The Department of Statistics LSR, established in 1979, is known to be one of the best places to learn statistics in the country. We have an excellent faculty with lecturers studied from reputed colleges such as Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), University of Delhi (DU) and IIT Bombay. The Department also offers great facilities such as Statistics lab and Computer lab where students are taught how to interpret and critically evaluate statistics in our real data-rich world.
Use of statistical analysis is growing rapidly, thus making its scope wider. Big Data Analysis, Statistical Techniques and Actuarial Statistics have become very popular these days, owing to their crucial role in growth of companies and industry. We at LSR, ensure that our students develop proper understanding of the subject so that they can perform exceptionally well in every area of work and achieve greater success. Currently, our alumni are working in organizations such as McKinsey, Bain & Company, Barclays, PWC, Towers Watson and so on. In addition to this, ever year, our students go on to pursue Masters and PhD from colleges of repute viz. Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), London School of Economics (LSE), IITs and University of Delhi. In fact, some of our alumni are working as Statistical Officers in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.
We welcome you to join us on this journey having great learning opportunities and promising career prospect.
